I don’t want to become a member of the fire department; is there anything I can do as a citizen?

There are always things that need to be done around a Fire Department other than being a firefighter. Filing paperwork, scheduling events, planning, preparing the Fire House for visitors or meetings, taking care of the building and flora around the building are just a few of the many tasks that are needed. Just show up at the Bergheim Fire Station any Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. and talk to the Chief or any of the officers about what you would like to do for the Fire Department.

How can I make a tax deductible donation to the Bergheim VFD?

Contributions in the form of cash, checks, or appreciated stocks are welcome. Check and cash donations can be mailed to Bergheim VFD, P.O. Box 4141, Bergheim, TX 78004. Tax deductible donations can also be made online at the Department's website, www.bergheimvfd.org. For other types of donations, please contact J. W. Pieper by email jwp1@gvtc.com or phone 830-336-3241. Bergheim VFD is a 501C(3) non-profit organization; all contributions are deductible under Section 170 of the IRS Code.

Does the Bergheim VFD accept corporate matching funds for donations?

Yes! Many employers have programs that match individual contrbutions with corporate funds. To find out if your employer has such a program, contact your company's Human Resources Department for details and make your gift worth twice as much.
