Bergheim Volunteer Fire Department (BVFD) is at the other end of your 911 call. We are the first responders should you have a fire or medical emergency at your home or a serious auto accident in this area.

BVFD is provided with a small amount of funding from Kendall County, and we regularly apply for grants from the Texas A&M Forest Service, but we heavily rely on donations from the public. In the past, our constituents have assisted in purchasing Engine 33, vehicles, equipment, and the building that houses our engines and trucks.

BVFD is a young organization steadily growing to meet the needs of our residents.  BVFD serves a large area of over 58 square miles on the Eastern edge of Kendall County, which includes 11 subdivisions and well over 8000 residents.  BVFD has a volunteer fire chief - Adam Hawkins, and over 20 volunteer firefighters willing to put their lives on the line to keep you safe.

We need your financial support to serve you better to pay for essential fire trucks, equipment, and training for our team. We currently have three engines, a water tender, and two brush trucks that respond to your emergency. Each is loaded with essential equipment and staffed with firefighters in state-of-the-art protective gear. This equipment used by and the gear worn by our firefighters needs constant inspection for wear and tear and must comply with rigid National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) guidelines for repair and replacement.  This is a considerable expense. NFPA compliance is not only the law in the fire service, but it ensures the protection of our firefighters and enables our crew to provide a safe and rapid resolution to your emergency. The NFPA also issues the guidelines for the training our firefighters receive.
